ABOUT ME
Emma Chiappetta is an instructor of mathematics at Wasatch Academy. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Bowdoin College in 2011 and her Master’s degree in mathematics from Dartmouth College in 2013. In her classroom, Emma focuses on educating each student individually by facilitating a competency based curriculum where students learn the material at their own pace through a medium of their choosing (videos, textbook, graphing applets, practice problems, etc.). Students then demonstrate each competency when they are ready to do so. Emma has done extensive research and professional development in order to prepare her to run a competency based classroom smoothly. For her efforts in this vein, Emma was awarded “Best of State K-12 Teacher of the Year” in Utah in 2017.
